A 14-year-old boy, locally identified as Kelyan, was fatally stabbed on a Route 472 bus in Woolwich, southeast London, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. 

The attack occurred around 2:30 pm near the junction of Woolwich Church Road and the A205 South Circular Road. 

Despite prompt medical attention from paramedics, Kelyan succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Kelyan was an aspiring rapper, known by the stage name “Grippa,” and had recently released a track titled “Bangers & Mash” on Christmas Day.

He briefly attended St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School in Bexleyheath, where he was remembered for his passion for music.

Superintendent Louise Sargent of the Metropolitan Police described the incident as a “horrendous crime” and expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends. 

A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrator, with no arrests made at this stage.

The tragic event has prompted an outpouring of grief and concern from the community and local leaders. Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, condemned the violence and assured the public of increased police patrols in the area. 

This incident marks the first teenage fatality in London this year, following a concerning trend of knife-related violence among youths in the capital.
